Cloistered Dominican Nuns Corpus Christi Monastery

The Harvest!

Oftentimes, people think that as contemplatives, we spend all day praying (which of course is the main and essential part of our life,) but manual labor is also a necessary element of our monastic observances.

Below are some pictures that our novitiate sisters took while they were enjoying the annual plentiful harvest. The sisters (and aspirant) looked like they took great delight in being able to climb trees, get a good exercise AND calling this manual “labor” at the same time!

They went out, they went out, full of joy!

They came back, they came back…full of song…and plenty of fruits!

If you know Catholic single women between the ages of 18 and 40, encourage them to discern God’s call in their life and invite them to join us as laborers in the Lord’s vineyard. Our next Come-And-See is Saturday January 16, 2016.  Space is limited so encourage them to contact our vocation directress, Sr. Joseph Marie, O.P. at vocations@nunsmenlo.org to register or to learn more about our life.

Deo Gratias!
