ENTRANCE OF SISTER MERY WIDJAJA

MONDAY JUNE 8, 2009

On the feast of the two early nuns of the Order of Preachers, Blessed Diana d'Andalo and Blessed Cecilia Caesarini, we joyfully received Sr. Mery into our cloister as a postulant.  The occasion was filled with praise and thanksgiving to God for inspiring Sister Mery with the desire to serve Him with her life of prayer, and her response to God's gift to be a Dominican contemplative.  Many happy tears were shed as Sr. Mery bade farewell to her family and friends who came with her from Los Angeles to begin her new journey learning the in's and out's of religious life.

May Sister's family be blessed for their great sacrifice which can only be repaid by the Almighty God, from whom all good things come; and to whom Sister Mery willingly and joyfully gave up everything to serve.

May Blesseds Diana and Cecilia, who were remarkable in those pioneer days, be a model and a source of inspiration and courage to Sister Mery, as she walks in the footsteps of our holy founder St. Dominic: to praise, to preach, and to bless; all for the glory of God and the salvation of souls.
