Cloistered Dominican Nuns Corpus Christi Monastery

A Visit with Our Mother

Last Sunday, our monastery had the privilege of welcoming the Centennial Pilgrim Image of Our Lady of Fatima that has been traveling throughout North America! Sent out to bring the message of Fatima to the world, through her Pilgrim Statue, Our Lady set forth as though to claim her dominion and many miracles, healing and signal graces are reported wherever she travels!

This Pilgrimage Image was one of the six Centennial Pilgrim Statues of Our Lady of Fatima that Pope Francis had blessed in January and sent on tour in six continents with an appeal to pray and offer reparation for the intention of world peace and the sanctity of family life. To honor this Centennial, our Holy Father has also declared a Jubilee Year from November 27, 2016 until November 26, 2017. In this Jubilee Year, the faithful may also obtain a plenary indulgence under normal conditions (go to confession, communion, detachment from sin, and pray for the intention of the Holy Father.)

Upon arrival at the monastery, Our Lady was crowned and our monastery was consecrated to the Immaculate Heart of Mary with the prayer by Pope St. John Paul II, Consecration of the Modern World to Our Lady of Fátima. It’s comforting to know that “The power of this consecration lasts for all time and embraces all individuals, peoples and nations.”

After Mass, we prayed the Family Consecration to the Holy Family of Nazareth, and consecrated ourselves to loving Hearts of Jesus and Mary and entrusted ourselves to the protection and guidance of the Blessed St. Joseph. It was God’s desire that we come to the Most Holy Trinity through the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the intercession of the Immaculate Heart of Mary and thus avoid wars, sufferings, and punishments.

We then heard a beautiful reflection on Answering the Urgent Call for Prayer and Reparation by Living the CARE Elements:

Confession: go to confession (once a week if possible) to receive God’s mercy and the forgiveness of sin and to restore our relationship with God.

Adoration: each day to console the wounded Heart of Jesus which has suffered such horrible outrages.

Rosary: every day brings conversion of heart and mind to bring about world peace.

Eucharist: receive the Eucharist at least every Sunday and Holy Day of obligation (daily if possible.)

After reciting the rosary together, we had a procession around the chapel arriving at the grille for the nuns to venerate Our Lady.

Veneration of  Our Lady

We continue with Adoration and midday prayer. The day was indeed filled with God’s abundance blessings.

We encourage you to heed Our Lady’s Peace Plan from Heaven:

To pray always, most particularly the Rosary and the devotion of the Brown Scapular.

To make reparation for the sins and outrages perpetrated against God’s grace and blasphemies against the Hearts of Jesus and Mary.

To consecrate ourselves and the world to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

“Pray, pray a great deal and make many sacrifices, for many souls go to Hell because they have no one to make sacrifices and to pray for them.”
