It was a very busy May in the monastery and the last three days of the month were the busiest by far! On Corpus Christi Sunday we celebrated our patronal feast: the Mass and Benediction was beautiful and we were joined in celebration by many: family, friends, and benefactors, including many of our Dominican friars.
Then Monday we had the joy of one of our newly ordained brothers, Fr. Christopher Brannan, O.P., celebrating his first Mass here (also gloriously beautiful). After the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, both Fr. Christopher and Fr. Dennis Klein, O.P., gave each of the nuns, and then the people gathered, their first blessing. This occasion also brought us a chance to visit with many of our Dominican brothers, family and friends.
And finally, yesterday, on the Feast of the Visitation, we celebrated the vestition of our newest novice!
While we settle back into the silence and prayer, giving thanks to God for His goodness to us, we will share with you more highlights (and pictures!) from these three days as soon as we are able. In the meantime, thank you for your prayers and joining with us in these grace-filled celebrations. In this, the 95th year of our monastery, the 800th year of the Dominican Order, and the Jubilee Year of Mercy, God has again proven He will not be outdone in generosity and blessings!
