The Kingdom of heaven is like a merchant in search of fine pearls. When he finds a single pearl of great price, he goes and sells all that he has and buys it
(Matthew 13:45-46).
Being a nun was always in the back of my mind. It was a mysterious call that I received since I was a little child. It attracted me to the life of solitude and prayer and to be with our Lord. However, I did not know how to respond to this call so I shied away from it for many years by making myself busy with school, work, and having fun with friends. Even when I immigrated to the United States, the idea still pricked my consciousness. So, I figured that I needed help from Heaven to discern this call and put it to rest once and for all.
The first thing I did was to make an act of consecration to Jesus Christ through Mary, then I did the spiritual exercise of St Ignatius, and finally I made a consecration to the holy guardian angels. I trusted in the guidance o four Blessed Mother. She in her gentle way guided me step by step in my journey to the door of Corpus Christi Monastery! She accompanied me throughout my discernment process including the trials due to the opposition of my family. She helped me with my financial situation through the organization called Mater Ecclesiae Fund For Vocation (http://fundforvocations.org.) She surrounded me with devout and loving friends to comfort and help me and she is now accompanying me in my further discernment to be a nun. How I love every moment to be in the monastery! How much I love God for sending me His Mother, to help me discern my vocation. Thank you Blessed Mother!
O clemens, O pia, O dulcis Virgo Maria!
